VeryPC started providing the retail market with energy saving computers just over two and a half years ago with their ‘Turion’ processor based systems simply known as GreenPC. Since then there has been a steady stream of GreenPCs [sold to both business and retail consumers], each one using less power than the last. The GreenPC 478 released in January 2007 used little less than a 60 Watt light-bulb on average. Now the latest edition to the GreenPC range is the ‘Dual Core’ Treeton, which according to the London Environment Centre has a base power consumption of only 29 Watts. The other appealing aspect of the Bonsai is its size, with a case measuring just 20cm high. And at only £499, this energy (and money) saving little PC will provide you with all the computing power needed for the modern lifestyle.
