Letsbeegreener.com's aim is to encourage people to reduce their use of plastic bags, we feel that encouragement is better than enforcement through legislation.

Almost 10 billion of these bags are used in the UK alone every year. Plastic bags are environmentally unfriendly in the extreme, filling up landfills and taking an incredibly long time to decompose. They also block drains, litter the lanscape, oceans & seas and have a devastating effect on some wildlife.

The Company started because we wanted to reduce our own consumption of single use plastic shopping bags. We were unable to find the size & quality of natural cotton bag that we wanted. So, we decided to design & supply our own bags. The bags are made in India of 100% natural 180gsm cotton. This strength of cotton is the strongest cotton available, just one below canvas. We have chosen this grade of cotton so that you not only have strong bags but they are soft enough to fold up small, making them easy to carry. Canvas & jute bags are really too bulky & are a hassle to carry around. Our 5 bag pack consists of 4 shopping bags plus a bag holder The 4 bags roll up & fit into the bag holder so you can carry them easily.

Other ways of reducing plastic bag use are:



• Re-use: All plastic bags, including single use bags should be re-used as often as is possible, then recycle them when no longer usable.



• Recycling: This seems obvious and it may be assumed that everyone is already recycling, however, many are not. If you don’t recycle your plastic bags they will end up in a landfill.



• Composting: Reduce the number of plastic dustbin liners you use by composting all biodegradable waste, e.g. fruit, vegetables etc.
