Giving World Online is a not for profit, free and simple scheme, offering businesses and organisations the chance to pass on surplus goods to people in need.

The scheme is entirely free to both businesses and charities.



A constant problem facing many businesses is how to deal responsibly with good quality surplus stock destined for landfill and how to find the time to search for a charity that needs such stock.

Two sisters from Leicester, Rama and Sujata Bhalla set up the website to help address this issue.

The website provides a free virtual platform for redirecting surplus resources to charities helping the poorest people, making a huge and positive contribution to the environment in the process.

Organisations with surplus goods register and advertise what is available online.

Charities register, access the database of business surplus and receive it free of charge

(excluding any transport costs) for distribution to the people they are working to help.

Every donor organisation receives a personalised record of everything they have donated

on the site with a comprehensive record of who received the donations; the number of beneficiaries; the value and volume of goods diverted from landfill.

The site is secure and all the charities registered to the site are checked to make sure they are bona fide.
