IT Audit - Tips to save money and CO2

Here at Ethical IT we have just undertaken a Green IT Audit of one of the buildings we look after, which came up with some very interesting results! From this, 2 quick tips I could give are:

You might shut down your PC’s & Monitors at night, but do you switch them off at the plug? Did you know they still draw energy unless you do?! Leaving 5 PCs & monitors turned on at the plug over night wastes enough energy to make 120 cups of tea! Save energy by ensuring equipment is fully switched off….

If you have communal equipment in your office such as printers & photocopiers, consider installing timer switches so that they are turned off/on out of hours. You’ll no longer have to rely on human memory to ensure energy is saved!
